The food retailer Carrefour has taken up 7,700 sq m (82,882 sq ft) across three floors at the existing Palacio garage in Paris’ eighth arrondissement for a new store. International real estate advisor Savills advised the landlord in the letting at 25 place de la Madeleine in central Paris at an annual rent of €1.5 M.
The concept, called "Les Halles de la Madeleine", will consist of two floors of retail and a 2,000 sq m (21,527 sq ft) restaurant on the first floor. Carrefour is scheduled to open the new store in 2013.
Christophe Gouny, Head of Savills France Retail department, says: "This is a great location for a new Carrefour branch and restaurant in central Paris. The store will also act as an anchor drawing shoppers in to the area, place de la Madeleine is the place to be for the finest food, and cafés there are already famous brands such as Fauchon, Hédiard.”
