Commercial fulfilment, online shopping and food delivery for office workers, has increased significantly. However, among these users only 36% express satisfaction with the delivery process. Collection lockers, Concierge Services and Security were key issues cited.
Ms. Minh said: "With the growth of e-commerce, it is now common to see the front of office buildings crowded with shippers. To promote positive aesthetics and efficiency, it is now common to have dedicated delivery and concierge services".
Smartphone Apps.
Around half of MNCs office workers reported that a workplace smartphone app would be beneficial. Services usually include building access, workplace events and announcements, booking and reservation service, health and safety notices and workplace allocations.
However, Senior Management at 66% were likely to be the heaviest users, with only 39% of non-managerial roles considering the app useful.
ESG
Investors are driven by shareholders attitudes and therefore placing more emphasis on environmental performance of their assets. 60% of office workers also consider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) high importance.
Instagram able.
Having a visually appealing workspace is important to stay connected with the Instagram crowd. Of those office workers who regularly use Instagram, 25% would most like to work in flexible office space, while those who don’t use Instagram, only 18% would most like to work in flexible office space.
Instagram able fit-out has developed in the retail and leisure sector, and will grow for offices, as workers’ social media endorsements become more common.
Ms. Minh, shared: "Flexible office design focuses on the interaction, cohesion and needs of employees. MNCs dedicate large areas for entertainment, break outs, cafeteria, and flexible casual uses. Gen Z account for 35% of employees, who have a high need to exchange and learn. This drives office design to increase interaction between work efficiency and employee engagement."
Modern Technology is Fundamental
Having good technology is essential, one-third of respondents felt they did not have the tech to work flexibly. Quality of Wi-Fi was the second most important factor to enable cloud access and ‘work from anywhere’. Occupiers now seek certification for digital connectivity.
Sharing more about the upcoming office trends, Ms. Minh said: "Following CoVid and with the return to the office, many companies now realise the importance of the working environment and its impact on company culture. Progressive companies will realise that talent can be nurtured in a well-designed, employee centric office environment."
