Between July and September Indonesia faced about of economic stress and political turbulence, including a sudden cabinet reshuffle and public protest. These events pressured the rupiah and triggered a 3% drop in the Jakarta stock index due to investors nervousness. Regulators and the central bank subsequently intervened with stabilizing policies to restore stability.
